History of TEAA
The genesis of the Textile Engineering Alumni Association (TEAA), MBSTU, can be traced back to a historic get-together of former students held on May 2, 2014, at Fire on Ice Restaurant, Uttara, Dhaka. This seminal gathering brought together alumni from multiple graduating batches, including Subrata Chandra Das, Md. Shafayet Arefin, Md. Abu Jamir Alo, Md. Arafat Idris, Md. Baqui Billah, Md. Sohrab Hossain, Sudipta Bain, and ATM Golam Mawla from the 1st batch; Amit Sarker, Md. Eanamul Haque Nizam, and Md. Sohan Parvez from the 2nd batch; and Habibur Rahman from the 3rd batch.

During this meeting, the participants collectively recognized the long-standing need for a formal platform to unite alumni and foster professional and institutional engagement. Consequently, they unanimously resolved to initiate the formation of an alumni association. A “Convening Committee” was thus proposed, appointing Subrata Chandra Das (1st batch) appointed as Convenor and Md. Eanamul Haque Nizam (2nd batch) as Member Secretary. In pursuit of formal recognition, an official application was subsequently submitted to the Department of Textile Engineering, MBSTU, seeking approval to commence the establishment process. Although no immediate response was received, this initiative marked the first structured and organized effort toward building an alumni network for the department.
Following the successful 1st Reunion in 2017, the urgency and importance of establishing a formal alumni association became even more apparent among former students. This renewed enthusiasm culminated in the formation of another Convening Committee during the event titled "Grand Iftar Party 2017 & Discussion on Textile Engineering Alumni Association", held in Uttara, Dhaka. Notably, this was the first-ever Iftar gathering organized by former students of the department, it drew the participation of nearly 70 alumni and former students, reflecting overwhelming support for the initiative. Athis this gathering, Subrata Chandra Das (1st batch) was appointed as Convenor, while Amit Sarker (2nd batch) assumed the role of Member Secretary. The committee thereafter worked diligently toward the formal establishment of the Textile Engineering Alumni Association (TEAA), MBSTU, alongside with drafting of its “Constitution”.
