Dr. Md. Iqbal Mahmud has been appointed as the new chairman of the Department of Textile Engineering (DTE) of Mawlana Bhashani Science & Technology University (MBSTU). He is the 6th chairman of the department.
Taking the charge from one of the most successful chairman of the department Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Dr. Mahmud started his journey as a chairman on the 1st April 2017 and eventually has completed 2 months tenure of his work.
Dr. Iqbal completed his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at Islamic University of Technology (IUT), M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering at Kongju National University of South Korea, MBA at University of Dhaka and PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Kongju National University of South Korea.
He is now the general secretary of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) Tangail sub-center. Dr. Mahmud started his carrier as a lecturer of the department of Textile Engineering at MBSTU in the year 2006. Now he is an Associate Professor of this department.
